چکیده

Automated inspection using multiple views (AMVI) has been recently developed to automatically detect flaws in manufactured objects. The principal idea of this strategy is that, unlike the noise that appears randomly in images, only the flaws remain stable in a sequence of images because they remain in their position relative to the movement of the object being analyzed. This investigation proposes a new strategy, based on the detection of flaws in a noncalibrated sequence of images. The method uses a scheme of elimination of potential flaws in two and three views. To improve the performance, intermediate blocks are introduced that eliminate those hypothetical flaws that are regular regions and real flaws. Use is made of images captured in a non-calibrated vision system, so there are no optical, geometric and noise disturbances in the image, forcing the proposed method to be robust, so that it can be applied in industry as a quality control method in non-calibrated vision systems. the results show that it is possible to detect the real flaws and at the same time decrease most of the false alarms.

Compression can be done by lossy or lossless methods. The lossy methods have been used more widely than the lossless compression. Although, many methods for image compression have been proposed yet, the methods using intelligent skipping proper to the visual models has not been considered in the literature. Image inpainting refers to the application of sophisticated algorithms to replace lost o...

Automated Detection of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions Using Texture-based Features and a Hybrid Classifier

Background: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most frequent non-traumatic neurological disease capable of causing disability in young adults. Detection of MS lesions with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most common technique. However, manual interpretation of vast amounts of data is often tedious and error-prone. Furthermore, changes in lesions are often subtle and extremely unrepresentati...

Image analysis for automatic segmentation of cytoplasms and classification of Rac1 activation.

BACKGROUND Rac1 is a GTP-binding molecule involved in a wide range of cellular processes. Using digital image analysis, agonist-induced translocation of green fluorescent protein (GFP) Rac1 to the cellular membrane can be estimated quantitatively for individual cells. METHODS A fully automatic image analysis method for cell segmentation, feature extraction, and classification of cells accordi...

Automatic Detection and Localization of Surface Cracks in Continuously Cast Hot Steel Slabs Using Digital Image Analysis Techniques

Quality inspection is an indispensable part of modern industrial manufacturing. Steel as a major industry requires constant surveillance and supervision through its various stages of production. Continuous casting is a critical step in the steel manufacturing process in which molten steel is solidified into a semi-finished product called slab. Once the slab is released from the casting unit, th...

Fatty Liver Automatic Diagnosis from Ultrasound Images

In this paper an automatic classification algorithm is proposed for the diagnosis of the liver steatosis, also known as, fatty liver, from ultrasound images. The features, automatically extracted from the ultrasound images used by the classifier, are basically the ones used by the physicians in the diagnosis of the disease based on visual inspection of the ultrasound images. The main novelty of...
